MANILA, Philippines – Signal number 1 remains raised in Zambales and Bataan due to tropical storm “Marce”, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

However, PAGASA said the storm has further weakened, now carrying winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 90 kph.

In its 5 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the storm was last spotted 200 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales and was seen slowly moving westward.

Residents in Zambales and Bataan are warned against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Fishing boats and other small boats are also advised not to venture out into the western seaboard of Luzon and Visayas due to big waves generated by the storm.

By Friday afternoon, PAGASA said Marce is expected to be at 370 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales.

Because of its slow movement, Marce may linger longer inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), but is expected to exit by Saturday afternoon.
