14 mountaineers rescued in Bataan

MANILA, Philippines – Fourteen trapped mountaineers from the Mapua Institute of Technology were rescued at Mt. Tarak in Mariveles, Bataan on Wednesday.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said the fourteen student mountaineers were trapped at the Papaya River Base Camp due to heavy rains brought by tropical storm "Marce."

The rescued mountaineers were identified as:

The mountaineers, who began their trek last October 1, were not injured and are now in safe condition.
