MANILA, Philippines – Tropical storm "Marce" has slightly intensified but has maintained its speed and direction, the state weather bureau said.
In its 11 a.m. update, PAGASA said Marce was packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center with gustiness of up to 100 kph.
It was located 270 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales at 10 a.m.
Marce was moving southeast at 7 kph. PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio earlier said that if the storm maintains this speed and direction, it will exit Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday.
PAGASA said the enhanced southwest monsoon continues to bring occasional moderate to heavy rains over Metro Manila, central Luzon, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON and Bicol Region.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the western seaboard of Luzon due to big waves.
Estimated rainfall amount is from 10 - 25 millimeters per hour (moderate - intense) within the storm's 400-km diameter.
