MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck off Davao Oriental early Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake occurred at 2:28 a.m. Its epicenter was located 169 kilometers southeast of Mati City.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 158 kms.
Phivolcs said aftershocks are not expected from the earthquake. Likewise, no damage was reported, as of posting.
