Blast hits bus in S. Cotabato, 18 wounded

SOUTH COTABATO - At least 18 people were wounded after a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) detonated inside a Yellow Bus Line bus in Glamang, Polomolok in South Cotabato Thursday.

PSupt. Amante Suriaga, Polomolok police chief, said the explosion came from inside the bus' overhead compartment past 2 p.m.

Initial investigation showed the explosion hit the overhead compartment on the sixth row on the right side of the bus.

The bus came from Koronadal City and was on its way to General Santos City.

The bus driver and conductor immediately reported the incident. The victims were immediately brought to the hospital.

The management of Yellow Bus Line has already spoken to the victims. -- report from Jay Dayupay, ABS-CBN News SOKSARGEN
