A Grade 5 student was found dead in an alleged suicide in his house in Kalibo, Aklan last week.

Police said "Toto" used an abaca rope to hang himself inside his room. His two younger siblings and a helper were in the house when Toto committed suicide.

Initial police investigation said there was no foul play in the incident.

Kalibo police said they found a suicide note in Toto's room. They said they will ask experts to check if Toto indeed wrote the suicide note by comparing the handwriting with his other notes.

Toto’s family said it was possible that the victim took his life after learning that he was suspended from school.
They said Toto allegedly found out that he was suspended from school after not being able to pass an assignment. A class adviser, however, denied that Toto had been suspended.

Toto's grandmother, who is a retired teacher, lamented the loss of her grandson, saying that the suspension could have been told to their family instead of to the boy.
