Abu Sayyaf member nabbed in Zamboanga

MANILA, Philippines – An alleged member of terrorist group Abu Sayyaf was arrested in Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City, authorities said.

The suspect, Abu Bandam alias “Bayaw," was arrested at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

He was collared by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Leo Jay Prinsipe of Basilan Regional Trial Court.

No bail bond was recommended.

Bandam’s warrant was issued for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Golden Harvest Plantation workers last June 11, 2001 at Barangay Tairan, Lantawan in Basilan. -- Report from RJ Rosalado, ABS-CBN News Zamboanga
