ILOILO CITY, Philippines - Police are investigating allegations that a woman from New Zealand was kidnapped and turned into a sex slave in Iloilo City.

The 39-year-old woman reportedly went to the Philippines to undergo martial arts training upon an invitation she got on Facebook, according to a report by the New Zealand Herald.

"They were meant to be world class and I thought this was a chance for me to learn from the best," she told the newspaper.

However, the alleged local martial arts expert she met in the Philippines allegedly robbed her and locked her up for 5 months inside a bug-infested room and forced her into prostitution, the report said.

'Sex with 9 men every day'

The woman told the New Zealand Herald that she was forced to have sex with up to 9 men daily.

Each man allegedly paid P5,000 to her captor.

"I felt utterly disgusted, and I was treated like a piece of meat," she told the newspaper. "It was meant to be a trip of a lifetime but it has destroyed my whole life instead."

She was allegedly beaten up if she tried to escape. She said she was later freed somewhere in Manila.

"I hate myself immensely and feel so dirty. I wish I could have just died in the Philippines rather than go on living like this," the woman told the New Zealand Herald.

Immigration, pension house records

The Bureau of Immigration has confirmed to the Iloilo City Police Office that the woman was in the Philippines, but she did not stay for 5 months.

The woman stayed in the country for just 2 months, according to immigration records. She arrived February 3, 2011 and left April 12, 2011.

She checked in at a pension house in Iloilo City February 4 and was accompanied by a certain "Mr. Dedolo."

The couple used the name "Jerry Santos" in the the pension house records.

The pension house's logbook showed that the couple used the facility's Room 31 from 8:05 a.m. last February 4, and the woman checked out alone at 8:30 a.m. February 6.

The lodging facility's roomboys said they did not notice anything unusual about the couple.

They described the woman's companion as tall, dark, and had closely cropped hair.

The pension house has a CCTV camera but the recordings made on the said period have already been erased.

Police are now looking for the woman's male companion, who is believed to be a resident of Passi City, Iloilo. - with a report from Joyce Ann Clavecillas, ABS-CBN News Iloilo
