MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) presented 121 new cadets comprising the Philippine Military Class of 2016.
It was a tearful event for Gabay Laya Class of 2016 after surviving three months of intense training at the academy.
The program started with the tradition rounds of the commanders and honors.
In his speech, Lieutenant General Emmanuel Bautista of the Philippine Army challenged the new cadets to uphold their ideals to serve as defenders of the country.
"You have committed yourselves for a lifetime journey in serving your country," Bautista said.
Meanwhile, Major General Nonato Alfredo Peralta Jr. encouraged the cadets to never lose the discipline they learned during their trainings.
"Yung challenge natin sa PMA Class of 2016 is maintenance ng galing ng natutunan nilang knowledge sa initial stage ng cadetship nila," he said.
