5.4-magnitude quake hits east of N. Samar

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) has recorded a magnitude 5.4 earthquake east of Mapanas, Northern Samar.

The US Geological Survey, on the other hand, measured the quake at magnitude 5.1.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries from Saturday's quake.

The quake comes after a magnitude 7.6 quake struck off the coast of eastern Samar on August 31. -- ANC
