Robber killed in Iloilo oil factory heist

MANILA, Philippines – A suspected robber was killed in a shootout with police in Pavia, Iloilo on Friday.

The victim, identified as Sanny Duang, tried to rob Kings Oil Factory with 7 other suspects.

The factory’s security guard said the suspects pretended to be customers before pointing a gun at him and declaring a robbery.

The suspects took P200,000 from the factory and escaped on a taxi.

Police chased after the suspects, which resulted to a shootout that left one of them dead.

Five other suspects, meanwhile, surrendered to authorities.

They were identified as Joemari Parcon, Jobert Gumban, Edwin Anorico, Elmer Licuan, and Reynold Eni.

The taxi driver, Raymund Nger Nger, is also in police custody but denied his involvement in the robbery.

Police recovered from the group several firearms and an M61 fragmentation grenade.
