BATANGAS, Philippines (UPDATE) – Two people were slightly injured when motorcycle-riding suspects hurled a fragmentation grenade in Imus, Cavite on Monday, police said.

Sr. Supt. John Bulalacao, Cavite police director, identified the victims as Joven Ylano and 70-year-old jeepney dispatcher Florencio Botones.

According to the report, Ylano was about to board his red Toyota Innova (VEP-448) parked along Aguinaldo Highway in Barangay Bayan Luma, Imus, Cavite when the suspect hurled a grenade.

Ylano and Botones suffered sharpnel wounds in their legs and were rushed to the nearest hospital.

Witnesses said the suspects fled towards Dasmariñas town after the incident.

Ylanos’ car incurred damages in its windshield and front hood.

Bulalacao ordered his intelligence operatives to gather CCTV footages from the nearby establishment, which could help in identifying the suspects.
