MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested on Sunday a couple in Legazpi City, Albay allegedly known for illegal drug activities.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Jose S. Gutierrez, Jr. identified the suspects as 35-year-old Francia Oro and her husband, 47-year-old Reynaldo.

Authorities said Francia is an alleged drug pusher included in PDEA’s provincial list of drug personalities.

The couple was arrested in their residence in Barangay Pigcale in Legazpi.

Recovered from their home were 6 plastic sachets of shabu and assorted drug paraphernalia.

"The suspects have already been closely monitored by our PDEA agents because of their involvement in illegal drug activities in Legazpi City. Both were the subjects of the search warrant," Gutierrez said in a press statement.

The suspects will face charges for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
