MANILA - Budget carrier Cebu Pacific has cancelled several flights to and from Tacloban on Wednesday due to the repairs set to be made to the city airport's runway.
The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) earlier announced the temporary closure of the Daniel Romualdez Airport, which will last from September 3, 6 a.m. to September 4, 6 a.m.
CAAP deputy director Rodante Joya added that upon completion of the repair, only turbo propeller aircraft will be allowed to take off and land at the airport.
In accordance with the advisory, Cebu Pacific has cancelled the following flights scheduled on September 3.
5J 651 / 652 Manila – Tacloban – Manila
5J 659 / 660 Manila – Tacloban – Manila
5J 653 / 654 Manila – Tacloban – Manila
5J 426 / 427 Cebu – Tacloban – Cebu
5J 428 / 429 Cebu – Tacloban – Cebu
The carrier added that affected passengers will be re-accommodated in the soonest available flights, and may rebook their flight within 30 days from the original departure date.
Passengers may also opt to reroute the flight to the alternate station, or request for a full travel fund or full refund.
