MANILA, Philippines – The state weather bureau is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) east of Visayas as it may intensify and develop into a storm.

PAGASA said the LPA was last spotted 910 kilometers east of Visayas, just at the edge of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

The weather disturbance is already expected to bring moderate to heavy rains (5 to 10 millimeters per hour) and thunderstorms in Misamis Oriental, the provinces of Agusan, Surigao, and Davao.

PAGASA warns residents in these areas of possible flashfloods and landslides.
