MANILA – A low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of the country is expected to bring rains over Luzon and Visayas regions.
State weather bureau PAGASA said Metro Manila and the regions of Central Luzon, Cagayan Valley, Bicol, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western and Central Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains or thunderstorms.
PAGASA said as of 4 a.m., the LPA was spotted 500 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
PAGASA weather forecaster Gener Quitlong said the LPA might develop into a tropical cyclone after crossing the Philippine landmass.
