MANILA – Three college students earlier reported to be missing in Cavite were found dead at a river in Calamba City, Laguna on Tuesday.

The victims, 19-year-old Kimberly Gardias, 21-year-old Katherine Taroquin and 22-year-old Jay Millapis, were found at a river in Barangay Looc a day after they were reported missing.

A fisherman discovered the remains of Gardias and Taroquin floating in San Cristobal River, while the body of Millapis was found on the riverbank.

The Adventist University of the Philippines in Cavite, meanwhile, confirmed that the three victims were their students.

Police suspect that the victims drowned and their bodies were swept towards Laguna. The three went to a camping activity near a river at the back of the university campus before they went missing. – report from Ronilo Dagos, dzMM
