Ex-soldier accused of raping own daughter
ILIGAN CITY - A former soldier was arrested on Friday after he was accused of raping his own daughter last year, police said.
The suspect was identified as Allan Yting. He was arrested by Iligan City police inside his house in Maigo, Lanao del Norte.
Yting allegedly raped his daughter in December last year. He then left service without permission 10 days after the rape allegations surfaced.
The suspect's mother defended him, saying her granddaughter only accused his father of rape after he hit her.
Police recovered from Yting a gun, ammunition, and three sachets of alleged shabu (meth).
Yting admitted that he owns the gun and ammunition, but denied that he owns the illegal drugs.
He will be charged with illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs, on top of the rape charges.
Authorities alleged that Yting also uses and peddles illegal drugs. -- report from Roxanne Arevalo, ABS-CBN News Iligan
