Special Forces trooper injured in Cotabato blast

COTABATO CITY - A member of the Philippine Army's Special Forces was injured in an explosion in Cotabato City Tuesday night, police said.

The blast occurred near a pawnshop and a fastfood outlet in the city's downtown area.

Explosives went off in an owner-type jeepney parked in the area, according to Cotabato City police director Senior Supt. Rolen Balquin.

Authorities have yet to name the victim.

They are still trying to determine type of bomb used in the blast, as well as the motive for the incident. - report and photos by Albashir Saiden, ABS-CBN News Central Mindanao.
