COMPOSTELA VALLEY -- Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Maritime Police, Regional Public Safety Battalion (RPSB) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated several firearms and drug paraphernalia from 10 houses in Diwalwal, Mt. Diwata, Monkayo town in Compostela Valley early morning Wednesday.

The operatives were supposed to serve search warrants to the owners of the 10 houses, but the residents already left their houses.

Authorities recovered several drug paraphernalia from the houses, which they believe are drug dens.

RPSB XI Chief Supt. Joel Consulta said they also discovered an area where pot sessions are held.

A resident confirmed that illegal drug activities in their area is rampant, adding that drug users even rented their house for pot sessions, paying him P30 to P40 per person.

Six suspected drug users were also put under the custody of CIDG.

CIDG XI Regional Chief S/Supt. Joel Pernito said the subjects might have been informed of the raid beforehand.

Authorities destroyed the drug den including pot session area and closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras before they left the area.
