MANILA, Philippines – Three towns in the province of Bulacan remain submerged in floods caused by monsoon rains.
Bulacan Governor Willy Alvarado said the towns of Obando, Hagonoy, and Calumpit are worst-hit by floods.
In Hagonoy, 12 of the 14 barangays are still submerged while Obando has been inundated since the onslaught of typhoon “Gener.”
Alvarado said floodwaters are slowly receding in Calumpit, which serves as a catch basin of waters from Pampanga and Nueva Ecija.
Over 160,000 families are affected by the bad weather but officials said there are enough supplies for the victims.
Clearing operations in the province are ongoing. -- Report from ANC
