MANILA -- Tropical storm "Labuyo" has further intensified on Saturday morning, placing five areas under public storm warning signal, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
PAGASA said storm signal number 1 is up over the following areas, which should expect winds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour (kph):
In its 11 a.m. bulletin, PAGASA said Labuyo is now packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.
It was last spotted 570 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes at 10 a.m.
It was moving west northwest at 19 kph.
Estimated rainfall amount is 5 to 16 millimeters per hour (moderate to intense) within the 400 kilometer diameter of Labuyo.
Weather forecaster Joey Figuracion earlier said the tropical storm is expected to make landfall on Monday.
