MANILA, Philippines – A group selling counterfeit Viagra products and fly powder was arrested in Angeles City by officers of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Intellectual Property Division.

Authorities said the group was arrested through an entrapment operation in a fast food restaurant.

They are facing charges in violation of the Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009.

The suspects denied that they were selling fake goods, despite selling them at the low price of P95 per box.

A box of Viagra sells for P3,000 in drugstores.

An NBI asset pretended to purchase 1,000 boxes of Viagra from the group. The arrests were made when the marked money changed hands.

Authorities said fake Viagra is usually sold in Pampanga, Batangas, Nueva Ecija and Laguna.

The NBI advised consumers to purchase only at legitimate drugstores. -- Report from Maan Macapagal, ABS-CBN News
