BUKIDNON, Philippines - Dozens of houses were damaged by a whirlwind that ripped through a hamlet in Valencia City, Bukidnon on Monday afternoon.
Superintendent Adonis Mutia, Valencia City police chief, said the whirlwind struck around 5 p.m. in Sitio Sinalayan, Barangay Lumbo.
An initial information received by ABS-CBN News said that at least 70 houses were hit by the whirlwind.
Mutia said that they received reports that farmlands were also destroyed.
He said policemen and members of the Valencia City's disaster coordinating council have been dispatched to Sitio Sinalayan to inspect the houses and farmlands affected by the whirlwind. – Report from Trinidad Velasco, ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao
