MANILA, Philippines – Torrential rains have flooded nine towns in the province of Pangasinan.
According to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, the flooded towns are Calasiao, Bugallon, Aguilar, Sison, Urbiztondo, Binmaley, Mangatarem, Lingayen and Bayambang.
A total of 184 families from Barangay Pantol in Bayambang have been evacuated. The ABS-CBN news team attempted, but failed to reach the area as roads leading to the barangay are no longer passable to light vehicles.
Most of those who are in evacuation centers are elderly and children. Many complain of colds as medicine and food are slowly running out.
Two casualties have been recorded in the province due to the continuous rainfall while all major roads in and out of Pangasinan are still pasasble.
Meanwhile, two of San Roque Dam’s floodgates remain open at 2.5 meters. Report from Ernest Vidal, ABS-CBN News
