LOOK: Air Force chopper crashes in Marawi
ILIGAN (UPDATE) - Two people were injured after a Philippine Air Force chopper carrying 4th Infantry Division commanding general Ricardo Visaya crashed a few minutes after take-off in Camp Ranao, Marawi City Thursday.
4th Infantry Division spokesman Maj. Christian Uy said one of the crew onboard the chopper suffered a foot injury in the crash while a civilian was also injured.
Uy said the chopper had just taken off when it lost power, causing it to fall some 20-30 meters.
Before the crash, Visaya had just come from a Lanao del Sur Electric Cooperative consultation in Marawi with Cabinet Secretaries Mar Roxas and Jericho Petilla.
The commanding general was on his way to Cagayan de Oro when the incident occurred.
At least 11 people were onboard the helicopter. Both Petilla and Roxas were not on the chopper that crashed.
