MANILA, Philippines - Former Palawan Govenor Joel Reyes has reportedly left the country after he was charged with the murder of environmentalist and broadcaster Gerry Ortega.
An ABS-CBN source said Reyes got a passport last February 3 under the name Joseph Lim Pe. This is aside from obtaining a passport under his real name.
The source said Reyes left the country for Vietnam on board Cebu Pacific flight 5J751 last March 18.
This is 9 days before a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Aside from the passport, Reyes also allegedly has a driver's license under the name of Joseph Lim Pe.
The Bureau of Immigration is still investigating the report. The Department of Foreign Affairs has yet to issue a statement on Reyes.
Authorities are offering a P1.5 million reward for Reyes' arrest.
