MANILA, Philippines – More than 10,000 people gathered at a sports complex in Iloilo for a prayer rally protesting the pending Reproductive Health (RH) Bill.
The protesters came from various sectors from nearby provinces.
Former Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines president and Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo scored the congressmen who are in favor of the controversial bill.
Lagdameo said the turnout of people at the prayer rally is proof that a big number of Filipinos are against the RH Bill.
In Manila, anti-RH Bill groups also held a prayer rally at the EDSA Shrine.
The rally was attended by church leaders and various pro-life groups.
Lawmakers are set to decide on the RH Bill next week. -- Report from Jenel Baclay, ABS-CBN News Iloilo
