MANILA, Philippines - Four suspected members of the New People's Army (NPA) allegedly fired upon the passing convoy of President Aquino's security escorts in Ligao City.
dzMM reported that the convoy of members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Army (PA) were traveling along the town of Palaspas when they were shot at.
The group had just finished securing President Aquino in Pio Duran, Albay province.
The army said the incident is a tactic of the NPA to make their presence known in the area and to embarrass the security escorts. dzMM
