MANILA – The provincial government of Bataan suspended classes on Monday, August 4, due to monsoon rains.
The local government said the suspension covers classes in all levels, both in public and private schools.
State weather bureau PAGASA issued a yellow rainfall alert over Bataan, Tarlac, and portions of Cavite and Batangas at 6 a.m.
Under yellow advisory (heavy), a rainfall amount of 7.5 to 15 millimeters was observed in the past hour and is expected to continue in the next two hours. Flooding is possible in areas where this advisory is issued.
PAGASA said Parañaque, Taguig, Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, and portions of Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Pampanga and Zambales are affected by light to moderate with occasional heavy rains which may persist within 3 hours. - with a report from Jef Canoy, ABS-CBN News
