MANILA, Philippines – A large World War 2-era bomb was recovered by authorities in Barangay Dela Paz, Antipolo City on Tuesday.
The bomb was found by residents buried in an empty lot at a subdivision and was retrieved by the Philippine National Police (PNP)-Explosives and Ordnance Division and the Antipolo Rescue Team.
Police said the rescuers took time in retrieving the bomb, which is still active, because it is capable of causing damage to a small village.
Residents said the bomb was the third explosive recovered in the area.
Authorities, meanwhile, reminded the public to immediately alert police and call Patrol 117 if an explosive is found. -- Report from Doland Castro, ABS-CBN News
