MANILA, Philippines – At least 70 houses were destroyed in the town of Jagna, Bohol after it was hit by a twister on Friday.
Gerry Araneta of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Council (MDRRMC) said the twister hit barangays Ipil, Bunga-mar, Can-upao, and Cantagay at around 10:45 a.m.
Thirteen fishing vessels were also damaged as the twister moved towards the sea, where it eventually dissipated.
Authorities estimate the damage to cost P800,000.
Local officials have started distributing relief goods to the affected residents. -- Report from June Perez, dzMM
