MANILA - The low pressure area (LPA) state weather bureau PAGASA has been monitoring off Visayas has dissipated.

However, the country will still continue to experience rains until Thursday due to the southwest monsoon or habagat, according to PAGASA weather forecaster Alvin Pura.

Speaking to radio dzMM, Pura said heavy rains will hit Zambales, Bataan, and Pangasinan.

"Inaasahan natin sa Friday ang gradual improvement ng ating weather at magtutuloy-tuloy hanggang sa darating na weekend," he said.

While the LPA has already dissipated, Pura said PAGASA is again monitoring another potential cyclone.

The new LPA, which is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), has a high chance of developing into a tropical cyclone.

"Posibleng yan ang mag-develop at itong nalusaw gagawin niya lang extension or track," Pura said.
