MANILA, Philippines – The death toll from Typhoon 'Glenda' (international name: Rammasun) has risen to 94, according to the latest report from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).
The NDRRMC said Sunday that of the 94 casualties, 67 came from Region IV-A, with eight from Region III, six from Region VI, five from Region IV-B, five from Region VIII, one from Region VII, and two from the National Capital Region (NCR).
Six people are still missing, while 317 others were injured.
'Glenda' also damaged more than 111,000 homes, with around 27,000 of them completely wiped out.
The typhoon affected a total of 330,443 families, or over 1.6 million people.
Of the total affected, 97,055 families were displaced and are currently staying in 1,264 evacuation centers.
The total amount of damage caused by the typhoon is now pegged at more than P7.3 billion. 'Glenda' damaged more than P6.3 billion worth of agriculture and livestock, and more than P1 billion worth of infrastructure.
More than P16 million worth of relief goods and medicines have been provided to the affected families. -- Reports from ANC, DZMM.
