MANILA, Philippines – Cases of the water-borne disease leptospirosis in Iloilo have reached 259 from January to July this year, health officials said.
Twelve people in the region have died from the disease.
Health officials said the most number of cases were reported in Cabatuan town, where 82 cases were reported.
Most of the individuals who acquired the disease were farmers.
