Lightning kills two in Pangasinan, Mt. Province
MANILA, Philippines – Two people were killed after lightnings struck in Pangasinan and Mountain Province.
Alaminos, Pangasinan resident Amado Mendez, 45, died after their raft was struck by lightning at around 6 p.m. on Monday.
Mendez’s cousin, Henry Laya, 28, was injured.
Laya said they were about to go back to the shore from their fishing trip due to inclement weather when the lightning struck.
Mendez is survived by his wife and four children.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said 14-year-old Augie Lloyd Manonggit died after he was struck by lightning in Barangay Banao, Bauko town in Mountain Province at around 3 p.m. on July 15, Sunday.
