MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck off Davao del Sur before dawn Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the earthquake was recorded at 3:21 a.m. Its epicenter was located 84 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town.
The earthquake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 10 kilometers.
No intensity was felt in any part of the region. Likewise, no damage was reported.
Phivolcs said aftershocks are not expected from the earthquake.
