Shabu found in woman's pantyliner

SURIGAO CITY - A woman was arrested Wednesday morning for smuggling illegal drugs into Surigao City Jail.

Officials of the city jail arrested Rosalie Aligsao upon receiving a tip that she is involved in smuggling drugs inside the jail. her husband, Jethrow Aligsao, is currently detained for drug-related charges.

Upon inspection, three sachets of alleged shabu were found hidden in Aligsao's pantyliner.

Authorities believe the suspect has long been using the same method of smuggling illegal drugs inside the jail, and selling it to the inmates.

Aligsao is currently detained in Surigao City Police Station.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Director S/Supt. Dennis Rocamoro is preparing the recommendation to remove Surigao City Jail Warden Senior Inspector Nelson Sumando because of the said incident. -- report from May Diez, ABS-CBN News Caraga
