MANILA, Philippines – A shallow low pressure area (SLPA) near Mindanao is expected to bring rains over the region over the weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said the SLPA was spotted 150 kilometers east of Surigao City embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao.
The weather disturbance is expected to bring scattered rainshowers in Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, General Santos City and Zamboanga.
The central islands of Visayas should also expect cloudy skies and scattered rains.
Occasional rains, meanwhile, are expected over Baguio, Laoag, Subic, Tagaytay and the Bicol region. -- Report from ANC
