MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED/CORRECTED) – A teacher was hacked by her allegedly deranged husband in Argao, Cebu on Monday night.

The victim, identified as Pacita Caminero Binghit, was hacked and injured by her husband, Navyman John Famor, inside his house in Barangay Suba at around 9:45 a.m.

Famor reportedly invited Binghit to discuss their problems in his house. The two apparently had decided to live apart due to some marital issues.

After the conversation, Famor allegedly went outside of the house and came back with a bolo. He then hacked Binghit at the back of the head.

Binghit was rushed to South General Hospital where she received treatment. She has already been discharged as of posting time.

Famor, meanwhile, was turned over to the psychiatric ward of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center. – report from Junrey Nadela, ABS-CBN News Central Visayas
