MANILA - Two people were killed after they were shot by a robber inside a bus in Moncada, Tarlac on Wednesday.

A Genesis bus bound for Baguio had just reached Moncada when the suspect, identified as Reynald dela Cruz, declared a robbery.

Dela Cruz shot two passengers, identified as Carlos Almuete, 68, and Jecson Ibañez, 25.

The suspect alighted from the bus in Barangay San Agustin in San Manuel, Tarlac, and then attempted to take a parked motorcycle along the road.

The motorcycle's owner, however, fought back, prompting the suspect to shoot him too. The owner is in critical condition.

Dela Cruz, meanwhile, was immediately mobbed by bystanders.

Recovered from the suspect were a .9-mm pistol and two cell phones.

Dela Cruz, who police said is a resident of Bangued, Abra and a former security guard, will face charges of robbery with double homicide and frustrated homicide. -- Report from Melanie Heng, ABS-CBN News
