BAGUIO CITY - Stall owners and vendors have started taking down their stalls in "Sitio La Presa," or Sitio Pongayan in Tuba, Benguet.

Sitio La Presa was the setting of the hit teleserye "Forevermore."

Seventeen stalls were removed Thursday to comply with the Writ of Kalikasan issued by the Court of Appeals, prohibiting any activity that may lead to the destruction of the Mount Santo Tomas Forest Reserve.

The site of the fictional La Presa is located near the summit of Mount Cabuyao in Tuba, Benguet.

Since "Forevermore" debuted in October, the quiet village has become a tourist phenomenon of sorts, transforming local businesses and attracting unheard-of levels of traffic.

However, weeks after the series ended, La Presa saw a decline in tourist activities. Some vendors complain about poor sales.

"Dati, madaming tao. Eh ngayon, 'yung mga binebenta namin, nilalangaw na lang," said stall owner Rico Yabot.

According to Ralph Pablo, DENR regional director, more than 100 stalls will be demolished by July 2. - with report from Chuck Tinte, ABS-CBN News Northern Luzon
