COTABATO CITY - An employee of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) in Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) was shot dead by an unidentified gunman along diversion road corner Bishop Mongeau Avenue, Rosary Heights 9, Cotabato City on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Yasser Mamadra Sana was on his Honda XRM motorcycle with license plate 7111-YK when he was flagged down by the suspect.

The two were having a conservation when the suspect suddenly shot Sana in the right eye.

Sana was rushed to Cotabato City Regional and Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Elements of Cotabato City police and Special Forces Battalion of the Philippine Army immediately conducted a pursuit operation but failed to catch the suspect who escaped on board a motorcycle and fled to an unknown direction.

Authorities suspect personal grudge was the motive behind the killing.
