Maguindanao massacre suspect killed in Cotabato

MANILA – A suspect in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre was killed in an exchange of fire with the police on Monday morning in Cotabato City.

Cotabato City Police chief Rolen Balquin said Muktar Santog was about to be served a warrant of arrest when he opened fire at the officers of Maguindanao Provincial Police Office in Barangay Bagua II.

Santog and two others, identified only as alias Katindig and Badboy, were killed after the police officers fired back.

Police recovered police uniforms and several firearms from the slain suspects, who were allegedly working as hired killers. – report from Edwin Sevidal, dzMM
