DAVAO CITY - Three suspects in the murder of businessman Richard King have been arrested, police said Monday.

The suspects were identified as police informant Rommel de la Cerna, alleged triggerman Paul Molina, and Rodel dela Cerna.

They also allegedly implicated a police official in the murder.

Rommel de la Cerna confessed to the crime and revealed how King, owner of the Crown Regency group of hotels, was killed in the Vital C building at Barrio Obrero in Davao City, police said.

He claimed that at around noon on June 12, he received a phone call from a police official who ordered him to look for King inside the building.

When they confirmed that the businessman was inside the facility, the alleged triggerman went in and shot King in the head.

Molina allegedly escaped on a motorcycle being driven by Rodel de la Cerna. The two are now detained at the Davao City police's intelligence section.

The police official tagged in the crime has yet to give his side while investigators did not reveal the motive for the murder.

Police have yet to say who will get the P1.3 million reward for information leading to the suspects' arrest. - report from Elric Ayop, ABS-CBN News Davao.
