BATANGAS - The Task Force-Rivera on Friday released the composite sketch of the suspect in the killing of former Mataas Na Kahoy Mayor Arnulfo Rivera last June 8.

Batangas police director Sr. Supt. Omega Jireh Fidel said the suspect's facial features were described by two witnesses.

The male suspect was described as about 5 feet 6 inches tall, light built, around 30 to 40 years old, and has fair complexion.

"May suspek na kami pero huwag muna natin ilabas ang identity para hindi mabulabog," Fidel said.

Rivera, 57, had just attended a Sunday mass in their chapel in Barangay Calingatan and was walking home when the gunman followed and shot him twice in the head around 10 a.m.

Witnesses said the gunman escaped on board a waiting motorcycle and fled towards unknown direction.

Fidel said they are eyeing politics, business and personal grudge as possible motives in the killing.

Rivera served as mayor of Mataas na Kahoy from 1998 to 2001.

"Next move namin ay ipapakita namin ang rogue gallery sa aming mga witnesses at baka doon pa lang ay ma-identify na nila yung gunman," Fidel said.

When ABS-CBN asked if there was an influential person behind the killing of Rivera, Fidel refused to elaborate but said "possible."
