Three students allegedly beaten up by school guards
ISABELA - Three students were injured after they were allegedly hit by two school security guards in Ugad National High School in Echague, Isabela on Wednesday afternoon.
The victims, identified only as "Enti", "Alfred" and "Erol", suffered multiple wounds and fractures on different parts of their body after they were allegedly hit with a pipe.
They identified the perpetrators as brothers Jestoni Chito Antonio and Jestom Antonio, who both work as security guards in their school.
They narrated that they were waiting for the school gates to open when Jestom suddenly attacked "Erol".
The brothers hit "Alfred" and "Enti" when they tried to stop Jestom from hitting "Erol".
The suspects admitted that they hit the students, but they argued that they were only defending themselves after the three students threw rocks and punches at them.
They have been relieved from their post after the school principal learned of the incident.
The students' parents have charged the suspects with violation of Republic Act No. 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act. -- Report from Janford Bonifacio, ABS-CBN News Cagayan Valley
