The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has presented to media a Chinese national and two Filipinos who were operating a shabu laboratory in Cotabato City.
PDEA identified the suspects as Peter Chou, his wife Norhata Bombong, and their driver Franci Kit Alonte.
The three were caught by a combined team of PDEA and the Philippine National Police last Thursday in their house in Barangay Rosary Heights in Cotabato City while reportedly in the act of cooking shabu.
PDEA said Chou, the main suspect, is the alleged operator and chemist of the clandestine kitchen-type laboratory.
Chou is suspected to be a member of the notorious Tiger Group of the Chinese Triad and is wanted for three other clandestine shabu laboratories that were dismantled this year by the PDEA in Metro Manila.
Confiscated during the operation were more than almost 500 grams of shabu, shabu paraphernalia and equipment and other ingredients.
PDEA said the raided drug laboratory could produce 1 to 3 kilos of shabu a day.
