NEGROS OCCIDENTAL - Five unlicensed firearms were recovered by police in 2 separate raids spearheaded by the Regional Special Operations Group in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday morning.
Authorities recovered an M-16 rifle, a carbine, and a .45 caliber pistol from the house of Marlon Delos Santos in Barangay 2, San Carlos City.
Several magazines of various firearms were also recovered from his house.
Delos Santos, also known as Godofredo Bayugang, is allegedly a member of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army - Alex Boncayao Brigade (RPA-ABB).
Another raid was conducted at the house of Mario Ramas in Barangay Nataban, where a Smith and Wesson revolver and ammunition were found by the police.
A Colt .45 pistol and ammunition were also recovered inside the house of Jose Ramas in Barangay 2.
Police Senior Inspector Joel Cambi, deputy chief of the Regional Special Operations Group, said the seizures are part of their campaign against unlicensed firearms.
The three suspects will be charged with illegal possession of firearms.
