MANILA - Tropical depression "Ester" maintained its strength Wednesday as it continued to move out of the country.
Packing 55 kph winds, Ester was last seen 330 km northeast of Basco, Batanes.
In an interview on DZMM, PAGASA weather forecaster Mario Palafox said if Ester's speed does not change, it will leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) Wednesday afternoon.
He said PAGASA suspects there is a possible weather system that is stopping the storm from leaving the country.
Batanes, Calayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, regions in Ilocos, Cordillera, Central Luzon, and Manila will continue to experience rain showers on Wednesday.
Other parts of the country will experience cloudy skies with rain fall.
There are no public storm warning signals raised in any part of the country. Report by Leo Humangit, dzmm.com.ph
